Home Credit Group - at a glance

Home Credit Group (Home Credit B.V. and its subsidiaries) is one of Europe’s leading providers of consumer finance. We serve consumers throughout Central and Eastern Europe (“CEE”), Russia, and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (“CIS”). While Amsterdam hosts the Group holding companies, Home Credit B.V., it is from Prague, in the Czech Republic, where Group management advises each country management team in the key business areas.

Founded in 1997, Home Credit Group is focused on the five key consumer finance markets of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Russian Federation, Belarus and also Kazakhstan. Its 21,800 employees1 serve more than 4.5 million customers1/2 across all geographies where the services are provided under the Home Credit brand (as of 31 December 2011).

Our strategic approach is through POS loans which account for nearly half of all new origination loans and then the emphasis is to cross-sell through cash loans, credit cards and car loans. Currently Home Credit Group has a multichannel distribution network with a relatively low cost base and approximately 72,000 distribution points through 1,300 branches (in Russia and Belarus), approximately 68,000 sales points, almost 2,700 post offices, telephone and internet (as of 31 December 2011)1. Home Credit Group is the leading mass market consumer finance provider in the CEE and CIS with €4.3bn in assets (as of 31 December 2011)1 and has built its reputation as a pioneer by successfully expanding into new emerging markets and by scaling up existing operations to realise its growth potential. With estimated ~30% share in its key markets of Russia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia (as well as same market share in Kazakhstan where the Group has a minority stake in the Home Credit business), the Group has 4.5 million active clients (as of 31 December 2011)1/2.

Our strategic aim is to achieve geographical and business diversification while exploiting the growth opportunities afforded by the rapid rise in consumer finance in CEE, Russia and CIS countries.

One of the Group´s key strengths is the extensive knowledge we have of our customers, combined with our expertise of local markets. The Group´s goal is to provide its customers with high quality service and convenient access to credit as and when they need it, while ensuring that the Group observes the highest standards of financial discipline and stability in order to maintain profitable growth.

We have implemented world-class risk management

Home Credit Group employs a world-class risk management system and operates a fully-automated underwriting system with a very effective antifraud tool that is backed by centralised and efficient IT operations. The importance of maintaining close relationships with its customers is integral to providing loans to them. The Group makes stringent efforts to fully understand each of its customer’s financial circumstances in order for it to lend responsibly and to remain confident in the customer’s ability to repay the loan. Over time the Group has built up a unique historical database to manage our customer relationships. Effective risk management combined with its unique ability to optimize risks on a large scale enable the Group to stand out from its peers.

Our strength in strategic markets

Home Credit Group is a pioneer in the geographic expansion into new and under-penetrated markets and we have done this successfully via a combination of acquiring local businesses and the establishment of green-field operations.

We seek to combine Western European business standards and expertise with strong market positions in the fast growing and therefore attractive consumer finance markets in Central Eastern Europe and the CIS. Since our formation in 1997, we have established fully developed operations in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan.

Such attractive markets are under-penetrated for consumer finance products and through our scalable, efficient and flexible distribution model, the Group has become the only pure consumer finance player of relevant size across the CEE and CIS regions, which offer strong opportunities for growth.
